Vijayashanti





Vijayashanti is an Indian actress who has starred in over 185 movies in seven languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. She was born in Nirmal, Andhra Pradesh, India on 24 June 1964. She is credited as "The Lady Superstar" and "The Action Queen of Indian Cinema".

Background and career
Vijayashanti's given name was 'Shanti'. Her screen name was based on her aunt Vijaya Lalitha, who was a veteran heroine in Telugu and Tamil films. She began her acting career in 1979 at the age of 15 as the leading lady in the Tamil film Kallukkul Eeram ("Stones Have Tears") directed by the legendary Tamil film-maker Bharati Raja. The same year, she debuted in her native Telugu with the movie Kilaadi Krishnudu ('Cunning Krishna'), pairing opposite superstar Krishna. For the first few years, she portrayed mostly glamour roles. Notable among them is her role in the Telugu film Satyam-Shivam (1981), the cast of which included the two legends of Telugu Cinema - NTR and ANR.

Vijayashanti's first break as a performer came in the 1983 Telugu film Neti Bharatam directed by T. Krishna. The next few years saw her in performance-oriented roles (Desamlo Dongalu Paddaaru, Vandemaataram, Pratighatana, Aruna kiranam, Repati Pourulu, Devalayam, etc), and in glamorous roles (Challenge, Desodhdhaarakudu, Pasivaadi Praanam, Muddula Krishnaiah, Agni Parvatam, gang leader etc). By 1985 she was exclusively acting in Telugu films.

Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Jatin Khanna (born on 29 December 1973) an Indian film actress particularly Hindi films and also Telugu, popular in the 90s. She is now an interior designer and co-owner of The White Window store.

Career
She made her debut opposite Bobby Deol in Barsaat (1995). The film did well at the box office, and she received the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her performance. After an eye surgery for a slight crosseye condition, Khanna went on to do many films which got her good reviews and recognition from the audience. She has acted with some of the best stars in the industry, including Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, and Govinda. Karan Johar admitted in an interview Twinkle was in his mind for the role of Tina in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,but she refused it and Rani was signed.

Her notable film roles include the girl next door in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai with Salman Khan (1998), the undercover spy along with Shahrukh Khan in Baadshah (1999) and the village belle in Mela (2000). She paired Venkatesh in the year 1999 in a Telugu movie Seenu.

She left the industry after her marriage to Akshay Kumar, citing that she did not enjoy the acting profession anymore. She has moved on. Her last film was Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega (2001), which was received averagely at the box office.[1]

In 2002, Khanna opened her own interior design store in Crawford Market, Mumbai called The White Window, in partnership with her long time friend Gurlein Manchanda. Since then, the store has received a prestigious Elle Decor International Design Award (from Indian edition of Elle Decor magazine). Twinkle has opened up another branch of the flagship store elsewhere in Mumbai and plans to expand throughout India.

Early life
Tamanna was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to Santosh Bhatia and Rajni Bhatia on 21 December 1989. She did her schooling in Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School, Juhu, Mumbai.

Film career
Tamanna started her film career with a Hindi film, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra. She made her debut in Tamil film industry along with Ileana In Kedi which did not do well at the box office. Her debut film in Telugu was Sri in which she played the leading female role opposite Manoj Kumar.

Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen born 19 November 1975 in Hyderabad, India is an Indian actress who appears in mainly Bollywood films. She is a former beauty queen, who was crowned Miss Universe 1994. She was the first Indian woman to be crowned Miss Universe.

Biography
Sen was born to a Bengali Hindu family. Her father, Shubeer Sen, was a former Indian Air Force Wing Commander and her mother, Subhra Sen, was as a fashion artist and jewelry designer. She has a brother, Rajeev Sen, and a sister, Neelam Sen. She was born in St.Theresa's hospital, Hyderabad, and grew up in New Delhi. She attended school at the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute. She graduated from Maitreyi College, Delhi. In 2000, she adopted a daughter, named Renee.

Miss Universe
In 1994, at the age of eighteen, Sushmita won the title of Femina Miss India beating Aishwarya Rai, who was the runner up. Sen represented India at the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant, held in Manila, Philippines and won.

At Miss Universe, Sushmita ranked third overall in the preliminaries, right behind preliminary winner Miss Colombia Carolina Gómez, and Miss Greece Rea Totounzi, who ranked second but won the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competitions. Sushmita went on to place second, fifth and third in the swimsuit, interview, and evening gown semi-final competitions respectively, placing third place behind Miss Colombia and Miss Venezuela Minorka Mercado. All three women went on to be the final three contestants. In the end, the judges placed their votes on Sushmita, making her the first woman from India to become Miss Universe

Film career
After her reign as Miss Universe was over, Sushmita became an actress. Her first movie, Dastak was in 1996, where she laid the victim of a stalker, that didn't do well at the box office. Her subsequent Tamil film Ratchagan, was a huge hit.[citation needed] However, it was two years later that her appearance as Rupali in David Dhawan's movie Biwi No.1 won her the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award in 1999. Biwi No.1 was the highest grossing movie of 1999.The same year, she was also nominated for her role in Sirf Tum in the same category, making her an obvious choice for winner. She received critical acclaim and box office success for film Aankhen.

So far, her biggest hit has been the 2004 movie Main Hoon Na, in which she starred as Shahrukh Khan's love interest.She played in the movie which grossed Rs 34,00,00,000 over the market and was the second best selling movie of that year.[2] Later on, she played a lawyer in Main Aisa Hi Hoon opposite Ajay Devgan. In 2005, she also starred in a remake of Cactus Flower, called Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya: Sen played the lead opposite Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Her most recent movies include Karma, Confessions and Holi (2006) opposite Naomi Campbell, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007) and the recently announced Dulha Mil Gaya (2007) opposite Shahrukh Khan.

It has been reported that Sushmita will portray the slain Pakistan Peoples Party leader Benazir Bhutto in a film co-produced by Zaid Aziz and Henna Rai of Karachi production firm Vox Vision and Leicester-based Sum Films respectively. Tentatively titled "Benazir Bhutto: The Movie", the film will be shot at various locations in Pakistan, the US, Britain and Dubai, where Bhutto had spent years as a student and later as a political leader in exile. When asked Sushmita about playing this big role, she excitedly told, “Yes, I am keen to play the role.”

The friendship between the two provided the material for a candid scene in the film, when director Kodandarami Reddy noticed Suhasini combing Sumalatha's long hair on the train journey to the film set. Reddy asked his cameraman, Ashok Reddy, to film the two, and added the scene to the movie's final cut.

She has acted in a handful of Telugu films. She co-starred with Chiranjeevi in Swayamkrushi, Veta, Kaidhi and Agnigundam. Career
During her school days, Sonia Agarwal got an offer to act in a serial in Zee TV. She then made her film debut with the 2002 Telugu film Nee Premakai, in which she did a small cameo role, after which she acted in a Kannada film Chandu opposite Sudeep.

Subsequently, she stepped into the Tamil film industry, appearing in the drama film Kaadhal Kondein, directed by Selvaraghavan, whom she would marry later. Pudhupettai, released more than three years ago, remains her most recent film as she later got married, and her Karu Pazhaniappan-directed film Sadhurangam, opposite Srikanth once again, got delayed and still waiting for its theatrical release. However, after having applied for divorce, she is said to make a comeback now, acting in a Telugu film by Upendra, in which she will enact the role of a widow.

On 15 December 2006, she married Tamil film director and brother of Dhanush, Selvaraghavan in Chennai, with whom she had already worked in three films.

After their two year long marriage Sonia Agarwal and Selvaraghavan had filed their Divorce with mutual consent in a family court in Chennai.
